Pushing Through, Interesting Light

This oil painting depicts a young woman seated in a lush garden, dressed in a light blouse and richly colored, voluminous skirt. Her turned head and distant gaze create a sense of quiet contemplation, while the surrounding foliage establishes an intimate connection with nature. The work draws strongly from **Impressionism and plein-air figure painting**, particularly in its emphasis on natural light and fleeting visual impressions. Energetic, broken brushstrokes build the figure and garden from patches of color rather than precise outlines. Cool greens and blues dominate the background, contrasted by warm flesh tones and deep burgundy, violet, and red in the skirt. Thick highlights and deliberately unresolved passages give the scene freshness, spontaneity, and a dreamlike atmosphere.
