Frequently asked questions

Does Regular Eats need an internet connection?
No, for almost everything. Adding, editing, rating, and browsing your restaurants all work fully offline. The one exception is the Map feature, which loads map tiles from Apple, the same way any Maps app does.

Do I need to create an account?
No. Regular Eats has no accounts, no sign-in, and no cloud sync — everything you enter is stored privately on your own device.

How does the free trial work?
Every new install gets 7 days of full access to every feature, including the Map and CSV import/export. After the trial, those two features lock until you make the one-time purchase — everything else (adding restaurants, ratings, categories, locations, favorites) stays free forever, no purchase required.

What does the paid unlock include?
A single one-time purchase (no subscription) permanently unlocks the Map tab and CSV import/export.

I reinstalled the app / got a new phone — do I have to pay again?
No. Tap Restore Purchases on the Unlock screen in Settings, signed in with the same Apple ID you originally purchased with, and your unlock will be restored automatically.

How do I get a pin to show up on the map?
Map pins are set manually and locally — while adding or editing a restaurant, tap “Use my current location” while you’re physically there. Regular Eats doesn’t look up or geocode addresses automatically.

Can I back up or export my data?
Yes — from Settings, you can export your full restaurant list as a CSV file at any time. Photos aren’t included in the export, only the restaurant data itself.

How do I delete a restaurant, or all my data?
Open any restaurant’s detail page and tap Delete to remove it individually. To remove everything at once, delete the app — since all data lives locally on your device, nothing remains anywhere else.
