Couch Lady Looking Up – Art Print of Oil Painting. Although I didn’t intend on it here, somehow I ended up practicing the major things I had been practicing at the time. I had been really interested in exploring figure studies, expressive eyes, and more vivid colors. This painting hit all three themes, and did so in a way I am satisfied with. A nice surprise! Whenever I’ve intentionally attempted a sort of capstone portrait to test my practice efforts, I’ve often been a bit disappointed…but I suppose accidentally stumbling into one works better for me? Another interesting thing is that I had the flu when I painted this one, so definitely a different mindset than usual.
