Bearded Man Portrait, Art Print of an Oil Painting. One of my favorite things is painting relatively fast portrait studies. I love working wet on wet/alla prima and trying to see if I can capture everything in an hour – usually these head and shoulders portraits for me come out a bit over that though. This portrait was an effort to really test the limits of my ability to work efficiently, which I think resulted in a nice end result.
Additional Details: Original oil painting by Jon Amdall using alla prima direct painting technique, Utrecht brushes, Gamblin and Utrecht paints, and Strathmore paper. Art prints are from FinerWorks on their Premium Giclee thick (21-mil) heavy weight (310g) paper.
