Woman in a Comfortable Chair Legs Crossed – Art print of an oil painting. I originally shared this portrait as my last one of 2024, but I don’t always time these things well. This portrait of a woman sitting in a chair is one that I even recorded a whole YouTube video about how it exemplifies a bunch of goals for things I want to practice in 2025. So of course, I ended up painting two more right at the end, so it’s technically not even my 2nd to last of 2024. But, it was a great effort towards practicing (and not hiding or obscuring) hands. And I want to practice more natural looking poses or positions. This is one I really like, and hope to do more like it throughout the year.
Additional Details: Original oil painting by Jon Amdall using alla prima direct painting technique, Utrecht brushes, Gamblin and Utrecht paints, and Strathmore paper. Art prints are from FinerWorks on their Premium Giclee thick (21-mil) heavy weight (310g) paper. Scans of originals are 720 DPI, 48 bit color, to capture the smallest details and textures. For artwork with multiple size options, the first listed is always the original dimensions, with similar orientations in larger sizes following. For example, for paintings that were originally square, I’ll offer a few square size options, then some cropped vertical or horizontal choices. See image gallery photos for examples of each orientation.
